WOAH - WHUT'S THIS??

(B Because I'm bored beyond all belief ^^ I'm pretty sure I've already shown you guys a little bit of this.... well, here's a little bit more 83

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With a sad, lonely sigh, the brunette girl leaned against the whitewashed wood fence. He'd been gone so long now. She missed him so much. She pulled out a silver star-shaped pendant from her shirt and stared at it. It felt like his good-bye gift to her. It was supposed to be her birthday present. That was, until two weeks later, when he had disappeared.
Unknown to the young teenager, her parents were standing at the kitchen window of their small farm-house style home, watching her. "Poor Allessa. She's been so upset since Herry left." Her mother sighed.
"I know. But we've tried everything we can think of to cheer her up. Nothing seems to have a lasting effect." Allessa's father stated.
"Why did he leave again?" Allessa's mother had many things on her mind, like keeping their small family farm above water.
"He apparently joined the Air Force, as a pilot." The father stated. "I never thought Herry was into flying." He shrugged, giving his wife's shoulders a small squeeze before walking off.
Allessa straightened up, clutching the boards tightly as she climbed to the top. She remembered the first time Herry had gotten her to do this. She was so nervous and afraid, but now it seemed like second nature to her. Spreading her arms out to the side, she confidently walked along the top board of the fence, perfectly balanced. The soft, gentle summer wind played through her long dark brown hair. She stopped just under a low-hanging branch of a tree. She grasped it firmly and pulled herself up into the tree to sit on the branch. She often came here, before with Herry, and now, to think. She knew that the story she'd been told was a lie. She could feel it. Herry never liked flying all that much. There was no way he'd be a pilot.
She had this feeling. This feeling was telling her that her best friend was out there doing something. Something incredible. She did not know what, but she knew it had to be true. And she also knew, that as soon as he could, he'd come back. He never left her behind.
If only she knew what was coming...
Suddenly, the tree began to shake. The small branch underneath her gave way, and Allessa tumbled to the ground. She looked up, and saw something that made her believe she was dreaming.
Two giant, part-lion, part-eagle creatures floating in the air, just several feet away. A small man jumped off the one. He wore a white and green robe, a helmet, and sandals. He walked up to her. "Sorry for the rough landing, Miss Allessa, but we have to go. Come along now, no time to waste!" He grabbed her arm and began to pull her towards the creatures.
"Wha?! Who are you?!" Allessa pulled against his grip. "How do you know my name?"
"No time for explanations at the moment. Hop on!" He encouraged her, pushing her towards the creatures. The one lowered its head to the ground, allowing her to climb on easily. The man gave her a smile.
Allessa bit her lip. "O-okay..." She stammered, climbing aboard the lion/eagle creature.
"Please keep your feet and hands inside the griffin at all times." The man said, mounting the other creature and urging them both forward.
With a mighty flap of its giant wings, the creature took off into the sky, followed by the man on the other creature. Once they were flying steadily forward, Allessa gathered the courage to talk. "Who are you?" She asked.
"Hermes, at your service!" He stated proudly, saluting.
"Hermes?" Allessa repeated, confused.
"That's right. I'm the god of boundaries, travelers, orators, literature, poetry, athletics, sports, weights and measures, inventions, and commerce." Hermes gave her a wide smile.
Allessa's brown eyes only widened further. "....You're... a god?"
"Well, kinda, I'm mainly just a messenger." Hermes shrugged, frowning a little.
"What do you want with me? And how do you know my name?"
"Well, Allessa, you just happen to be the descendant of Aceso. She's the goddess of healing."
"Me?" Allessa gaped, unbelieving.
"Yes, you." Hermes chuckled. "Don't worry, everything will be explained when we get to New Olympia."
'New Olympia?' Allessa gulped, glancing down at the ground, now miles beneath them. 'What have I gotten myself into now?! Oh, Herry, I wish you were here.' She glanced over at Hermes, who only gave her a cheerful smile. At least he seemed nice.
