It's not about respecting whether or not people eat eggs, it's about the type of eggs that are eaten.

I personally don't eat eggs. I can't stand them. But I expect the eggs my family to buy to be free range. As does my step father. Because neither of us want to support caged chickens in anyway shape or form.

It'd be like, I don't know, if you were living with someone who bought a random product of a particular brand which used slave labour or something (going a tad bit extreme to prove my point here), even though there are plenty of other exact products from different brands which don't use or promote slave labour. Wouldn't you throw it out there that they shouldn't be supporting such a company because slave labour is immorale?

It's the same with caged eggs. Animal cruelty (which it is) is immorale. And it shouldn't be supported. Well, that's how I think of it and that's how I believe Atlanta thinks. Since we're both environmentalists and stuff.

And she also has the influence and (let's be honest) temper to back up her beliefs. With force if necessary.

Besides. It's been proven that eggs from caged chickens have less nutrition. (B

I only buy free range, NOT for the sake of the animals...but for the simple fact that they taste SWEET. While any other kind of eggs taste...Ianno. Not so sweet. Kinda sour.

But I bet Atlanta doesn't even think to consider that.

I noticed the teens, mostly the girls, like watching horror movies a lot. This makes me very very happy.

UPBRINGING, AS I HAVE PUT WAAAY TOO MUCH THOUGHT INTO THIS:

Jay: Single child in a family that I think were high-school sweethearts and I think, not entirely sure why- but I think it's the bond Jay has with his mom in the mothers day episode- Jay's parents married in/just out of high school as his mother became pregnant during their senior year in high school and his parents managed to find love and romance in their relationship. I see them living in the suburbs as a middle-class family. I also see Jay either living in Vancouver or in Ontario(around the Great Lakes) or even being a Newfoundlander- even though he doesn't have the accent. He spends a lot of time in Greece too with his extended family.

Odie: Comes from a lower-class family, possibly immigrant, in the city with probably lots (as in two to three) of much younger siblings and his parents are too busy with those kids and working so Odie does/did spend a lot of time alone growing up and did a lot of computer/technology-related things, and focused on academics in order to get a good-paying job to support his family. I don't see Odie resenting his family for not being so attentive to him, but feeling even more protective but also socially inadequate because of being cut off by his family and by himself. I see him living in Toronto or Ottawa.

Herry: Grew up as only child under Granny- I believe his parents either died or abandoned him on her doorstep, or possibly he was removed from their care due to conditions such as his parents being neglectful/drugs/alcohol, but I don't think Herry's ever been abused. Granny loved to travel so Herry got a taste of the world and learned to love people a lot but was mainly friends with adults because he always hurt kids his age- accidentally. He's not accademically smart- Granny believed in street-smarts, not book smarts- and has been homeschooled due to his world-travels with Granny. They're fairly well off due to Granny's retirement fund (and I bet Herry's late grandpa was totes rich too) and live in a farm in Saskatchewan.

Atlanta: Grew up in a very rural town in northern Canada (I'm thinking the territories waaaaay up North) and really was a rebel because there wasn't anything else for her to do. And so with the rest of the town being hard on her for being all different she's all 'you can't tell me what to do!'. I see her as being the youngest with one or two much older brothers who have like, left the town because they could never stand it and dropped all relations with the family so that's why Atlanta's all independant because she feels she has to be.

Theresa: Split family, when she was a child, and I would assume because of an affair her mother had. Theresa's dad kept custody of her and became very work oriented to keep his mind off the divorce and be sure his daughter could have a perfect life. I think he genuinely cares about Theresa and wants the best for her, but loses siught of ther fact that she'd love to have her father around. Theresa probably is an only child- potentially with a half-sister who is always nasty to her and I don't think Theresa's ever really had (a) very close friend(s) but grew up with all the proper lessons, like riding, piano, singing, art and such. She's totally Brittish and speaks several other languages like French, Spanish and some German.

Neil: I think Neil had a model mother who was all about eating disorders and binge drinking and having a good time at parties every day and his dad was one of the famous musicians she took home and maybe managed to hold onto for a few weeks/maybe months. Neil probably never had a constant positive male figure and his mother was never very supportive and Neil probably took care of her a lot more too. And she'd probably lash out at him because she never really wanted a child and probably felt like he was the ruin of her life. But she also probably used him a lot too and on good days, when all was good, taught hin the ropes because he was an uber-gorgeous boy and was going to be the hottest model one day. Neil's totally been spoiled, but lost that human touch in the process. Neil's also totally French, fo sho.

Archie: Archie for sure comes from a very poor, split home and I see him being the younger brother, his sister-or-brother lived with the mother and then split from the family as soon as they could. Being the youngest, Archie was probably shipped back and forth between the parents for whomever wanted him at the moment because of his anger problems and tendancy to fight and be a problem. I see his mother meeting a new man and wanting to start a new life and not wanting him around anymore because she was going to have a baby and didn't want Archie's bad influence on the baby- and probably telling him this the last time she spoke to him- and then kicking him out. His father is either a drug addict or more likely an alcoholic and very likely abusive (probably why his parents split but his mother believed his father would never actually hit their kid or she actually didn't care) Archie has no family support and his dad probably kicks him out a lot and he doesn't have anywhere to go. I see him just barely having kept out of gangs and drugs (they probably aren't effective due to his immune system- another theory I have) when Hermes showed up. Archie isn't trustful of people because no one's been very kind, which is why he wanted to leave asap in the beginning of the show. He's also a hardcore German.

Yeah, WOW. Way too much thought into this, ahahaha.

You know Demenior...I appreciate all the thought and effort you put into their backgrounds but...it kind of bothers me how, except for Jay...you gave all of them rather horribly dark backgrounds. It's kind of...disturbing.

I say yes to Jay, I think Odie's pretty much All=American but the rest is valid, and I think you make a good point with Herry- I bet his parents died in a crash. As for Atlanta, DITTO! ^^ I believe she would haaave...... two half brothers and 3 girl cousins that were like sisters.

And I countered the siblings claim with simple deduction.

"When we see the photos in Granny's house in 'Prisoner Campe', there is no evidence of other grandchildren. And if a grandmother was travelling, why would she take one grandchild and not her others? Perhaps she couldn't afford to take more than one at a time, you might say. One might argue that perhaps she did take Herry's 'siblings', but their photos were elsewhere...

All I can say to that is... Wtf? Why has she got a Herry shrine? She seems much too much like the doting sort anyway (note how she pinched Herry's cheeks in 'Chaos 102' and how she welcomed and catered to (well, she made Herry cater to) the other kids when they'd visit? (This also coincides with what I said about ancient Greek tradition in Jay's section, btw)) to stack all of Herry's photos in one area and hide her other grandchildren's photos in the back room or something. It's just not right!"

I still maintain Herry is an only child. There's no evidence of him having siblings in Granny's home, which is where we SHOULD see evidence... She never asks, "Have you seen your brothers lately?" or says, "Tell your sisters to come see me sometime."

And I really do believe that all of her doting ON Herry is a result of him being her only grandchild.

I rest my case. :)
