Yeah that pisses me off to...sadly I have a mother like that...she's a selfish manipulative bitch who thinks that everyone in the world owes her, and lives in her own little world of delusions where everyone is out to get her or something, when really no one gives a ****...I want to deck her sometimes.

And Alex...no idea what makes you think that's about you. I never named any names or anything. But if it really bothers you that much...I created this thread and posted that in regards to a fight i had with my mom on the phone a little earlier.

I just dislike people in general. Because most of them are idiots. I hate people who talk about Obama like he's a miracle even though- HELLO- black people have RIGHTS now and he's ABLE to be president. Milestone, yes. But there's kids insisting that he's INSPIRED them and helped them to realize that they can *GASP* actually go to college.
Yeah. They think they can go to college because there's a black president.
WTF!?!
And stereotypes and blame. As in, oh, TV must be the cause of teen pregnancy because there's SEX on it. Update into the twentieth century, scientists: Sex has ALWAYS been on TV. Teen preganancy is caused by STUPIDITY, not TELEVISION. Take some respoonsibility.
And then the sterotypes involve stuff like oh, I'm a teenager so my opinion doesn't matter because I'm shallow and only care about boys and makeup. WOW people. Really?

And, actually, I think you had a really good argument for Obama. But, the fact is, this kid actually admitted that the reason was because of his color. He said (not in THESE words, but this is what I heard in my mind): "I didn't see anyone in the history books who LOOKED like me, and Obama LOOKS like me, we both have BLACK SKIN, therefore we are INFERIOR even though it's been proven that we're not and yet we're STILL making a crapload of fuss about it! I now believe that I am able to go to college because we have a black leader."
Trust me, it wasn't financial reasoning. It's because he's African American.

EXACTLY! Which was why I thought it was kinda/REALLY stupid of him to think that this one event has opened up all these doors for him. They were ALREADY OPEN, they have been since people learned how to get along interracially B( At least, most people.

One of my pet peeves is when people try and insist that they know a lot about a culture and then say something completely stupid. For instance, I went to this SCA event a few years back and this kid said that "Chinese Canadians were born in China and came to Canada." Technically yes, because they apply for Canadian Citizenship. But-continuing on my example-people who are "Chinese Canadians" are of Chinese Culture who were born in Canada. I would know cause I'm half-Chinese.

But yeah, that ticks me off.

Ha ha...yeah...see Danni...the OPPOSITE, the LACK of sex education in some schools, is actually a HUGE pet peeve of mine.  ((lol and guys...do me a favour...try not to take anything I say personally or anything....I'm just very opinionated. Don't want to start any fights...just sayin what i think XD))

I was taught sex ed when I was 10...and I'm GLAD they started teaching me when I was that young. I think it's a GREAT idea to teach sex ex in school at that young an age so kids know where they come from...and so as they grow and learn more about the process in each grade, they learn both the good AND the bad that can come of it! And especially since A LOT of parents aren't sure how to bring up the subject with their kids...I think it's a good idea to have a PROFESSIONAL come in and teach them properly, rather than have a parent be all nervous and possibly give the kid the wrong idea.

Ever stop to think that the teenagers that are out there having sex and getting pregnant and ruining their lives...are doing so because they didn't have the PROPER sex education in school...because their parents pulled them out of the classes? Hell if we didn't have sex ed in school to teach us what sex was and what it did...what do you think would happen in say, a 13 year old (who hadn't had sex ed in school, and their parents hadn't told them what it was because they thought it was "evil") came across a parents old porn video that they had forgotten they'd had...or were at a friends house and him and his friend found one...and watched it. They would most definitly get the wrong idea and think sex was all good and amazing, and because they never had the proper education they wouldn't know any of the consequences!

Expecting people to "wait till marriage" or abstain is absurd. This isn't the 1800's. EDUCATE THEM, and if they choose to abstain GREAT, and if they don't, at least they'll know what they are doing, what the consequences are, and they'll know how to protect themselves. I didn't wait till I was married. And not many of my friends did either. But because of what we learned in sex ed, we knew what precautions to take and ways to be safe without worrying about getting pregnant or contracting an STD. Simply saying "Don't do it till you're married!" is stupid, and will only make the teen want to do it even more.

Also...as I stated before (and I'm sorry if this is TMI)...I was about 10 or 11 when I started sex ed...I got my first period a year or so later! And if I hadn't had that education to know what was happening to me...I'd have been TRAUMATIZED...and I also know I'd have been too terrified to tell my mom something was wrong. BUT...because I had been educated about how the female reproductive system works, I KNEW what was happening to my body, and I was able to go up to my mom and say "Mom I think I just got my period!"

That's the point of sex ed...to EDUCATE so they know the consequences of sex (and not JUST that, but also to educate children about what's happening to their bodies as they grow older), and should they choose to engage in it at 16 or 17 (or god forbid in my brothers and cousins case 14 which I think is WAY too young!!!) they know the proper ways to protect themselves. Getting rid of sex ed in schools...NOT educating our children of the consequences and proper ways to protect themselves...THAT is what ruins their lives, and is not a smart idea at all!

I kinda see the angle you two are coming from. Again, that proves my last statement that I'm sure you two are smart enough to know what you're doing. But, I grew up in a Christian school, and my parents taught me about sex when I was 12. That, in my humble opinion, is the way I want it to be for my kids as well. I know that this isn't the 1800s, but that's not good enough reason to lower my standards, which are the same standards my parents hold for me, the same standards my grandparents held for them, as well. I am NOT getting involved with any man in that way until I am sure he is the one and we are married. If he doesn't want to wait that long, then he obviously isn't the right guy for me. So many things could happen, even with protection. I'm not risking anything.

Probably my worst pet peeve is kids who are pushy and impatient. >B( I can't handle it. I break out all "RAWR HOW'D YOU LIKE IT IF I SHOVED YOU OUT OF THE WAY TO GET SOMETHING, HUH? IF YOU DON'T STOP IT RIGHT NOW YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANYTHING!!"

At least the kids I work with have learned that I don't take that crap. They're usually pretty well-behaved now. XD That'll all change come September tho.

OHHHH...want to know ANOTHER of my pet peeves?

When I tell someone "I'll be ready by (insert time)...so be here to pick me up by then." and they say ok, and then that time comes around and the person doesn't show...and arrives 45 minutes later. I HAAAATE it when people make me wait!

lol my ex bf did it once...and quickly learned to never do it again!

See what had happened...he and I had planned to get together on a Saturday (my day off) last summer and go to Wonderland, but at the last minute I had to work. So he said no problem, and asked what time I finished at. I told him "I'll be finished at 3...be there to pick me up when I get off." and he said ok.

So I'm working on Saturday...a REALLY rough day at work (I used to work in collections so i had people CONSTANTLY screaming at me on the phone) and when 3 pm hits I bolt out of there like lightning, happy to be done and to see my bf. I get out side and look around, he's not there. So I'm like "Ok...maybe he got stuck in traffic or something and will be a couple more minutes." so I waited five more minutes, nothing. So I called him and asked him if he was almost here. HE HADN'T EVEN LEFT THE HOUSE YET!!! He was like "Are you done yet?" and I was like "Uhhh...yeah. I told you to be here for three cause I got off at three!" and he was like "Ok I'm on my way now."

And thus...left me WAITING for 45 freaking minutes. You can imagine how unbelievably pissed I was when he got there. And when I got in he actually asked me "Were you waiting long?" and I actually gave him this dirty glare and said "Yes...I've been waiting for over 45 minutes! I told you to be here AT THREE because I finished AT THREE so I didn't have to wait for you! Don't do it again, and if you think you might be late just call me and tell me!"

annnnnd he never did it again XD

Urgh-_- what about those people who take things waaaaayyyy too seriously? I mean, I KNOW I'm kinda uptight when it comes to certain things, but those people who absolutely FREAK when there's basically NOTHING wrong!? Geez!

XD you sound like my dad. EVERY time we get in the car, "Look, that person forgot her turn signal. She's probably TEXTING." Or every time we see it on TV or in the newspaper- "Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?? BAD." XD I know it's bad. He just rants about it. A LOT.
